RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 1
Hotspot 1 was held from Safari Lodge, 146 km to the Southeast of the loft. The weather was good with clear skies and moderate temperatures starting at 17 degrees Celsius with a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius. The wind was a gentle headwind of 5 to 7 km per hour.
The first pack of pigeons arrived after 1 hour 48 minutes achieving a velocity of 1346 m/m. A total of 2799 birds were basketed and 2484 returned in race time. 11.25% were still out when the clock was stopped.
Most pigeons are in very good condition but some of the late comers will need rest and miss the next training toss.
The Trackers generally came home on their usual course so didn’t tell us anything about groups that when wayward.
Please remember only activated pigeons can win prize money. Hotspot 2 pays US$ 15 750 for the top 20 places.
