RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 2

Hotspot 2 was held on Wednesday 7th June from Lupane 237 km. There was a strong Northeast wind (crosswind) with a maximum daytime temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.

There was a pack of 7 pigeons in the first drop closely followed by groups of other birds. The 1st pigeon recorded a velocity of 1520 m/m and the 10 prizes were won by fanciers from 9 different countries!

Of the 3379 pigeons basketed the following was recorded;

1000 birds in 10 min (30%)

1967 birds in 20 min (58%)

2446 birds in 30 min (72%)

2840 birds in 60 min (84%)

3018 birds on day 1 (89%)

When the clock was stopped on the second day total returns were 3103 birds. 8.2% did not return in race time.
