RACE REPORT HOTSPOT 1
Hotspot 1 from 192 km was raced on Wednesday 31st May. The pigeons had a strong crosswind and the maximum day time temperature was 32 degrees Celsius. The highest altitude reached by a tracking pigeon was 1398 metres above sea level (approximately 498 metres above ground level).
The leading pigeons came at reasonable velocities but as the day progressed it was evident that some pigeons struggled. By the end of day 1 there were 3236 pigeons home. By the close of the race on day 2 there were 3349 home and 8% did not return in race time.

The Knockout Competition also starts with Hotspot 2. All birds activated before liberation will automatically be entered.
