    VFWCPR 2018/2019 INTAKE & PLAN

    In order for fanciers to plan their breeding of this next intake of pigeons we are advising everyone now of some intended changes for the 2018/2019 season and are setting the young bird intake dates.

    We are pleased to announce that the total prize money will be USD 1 Million for this coming race season, ending in January 2019.

    A limited number of pigeons will be offered for sale after the current Young Bird Programme which ends in January 2018. They are expected to be sold overseas and only top performing pigeons with pedigrees will be exported by VFWCPR for sale.

    The balance of the pigeons will be retained after the final race in January 2018 and will be entered into a yearling/ old bird program from May to July 2018. The program will end with a final from 720 km (450 miles). The lofts will be modified to accommodate the old birds and after this final the best performing pigeons with pedigrees will then be sold to best advantage.

    The intake of young birds for the 2018/2019 season for European countries will take place into The Dutch Quarantine & Veterinary Services facility in the Netherlands on the following dates;

    5th & 6th April 2018

    3rd & 4th May 2018

    7th & 8th June 2018

    5th & 6th July 2018

    Intake of birds into the Victoria Falls World Challenge Quarantine facility in Zimbabwe (for all countries) will be on the following dates;

    1st to 4th May 2018

    4th to 8th June 2018

    2nd to 6th July 2018

    6th to 10th August 2018

    Please plan for the pigeons to arrive in Zimbabwe on the intake dates shown. If the shipment is not ready by these dates the pigeons will need to be held over to the next shipping date.

    The details of the rules, extended future prize money list and other changes will be publicised in due course.

    Please remember that pigeons that are vaccinated at a young age, 14 days BEFORE sending them to quarantine or holding lofts have a much better chance of survival.

    Best regards

    The Victoria Falls Team
