Hotspot one took place on Saturday 9th December. The pigeons were liberated from Dete Cross Roads, 133km to the South East of the loft. Visibility in the early morning was not bright because of cloud cover, so the pigeons were not liberated at sunrise but held for 15 minutes.

After liberation the birds cleared quickly and headed off with a slight tail wind of 11 km per hour.

1750 pigeons were basketed

136 pigeons arrived in the first 5 minutes

203 pigeons arrived in the first 15 minutes

1053 pigeons arrived in the first 1 hour

1627 pigeons arrived in the first 2 hours

When the race was stopped there were still 37 pigeons missing

We would like to formally congratulate the following fanciers for taking the first 10 prize money positions;

An audit has been done on the results. Point to note: the first place pigeon was previously shown as Booked- awaiting payment, however payment was made and proof of payment received in time after the basketing list was put online. This pigeon was therefore activated for the race. Please note, because of delays in banking please allow extra time when making payments to us.

Pigeons are generally split up by attacks from the high population of raptors. This makes it essential for pigeons to quickly re-orientate and continue flying to return in reasonable time.

The ACE Bird competition has 883 entrants. This is only open to activated pigeons in normal teams (not Venture birds).
